Employee time tracking developers won’t hate.
A one-click timer in the desktop app records time against a task, with screenshots, an activity level, and the apps used. Members see their own data, managers set capture options per person, and nothing is ever keylogged.
Free for individuals. Team plans from $5 per seat per month on annual billing, with a free trial.

What Colabio records, and what it never does
While a timer runs, Colabio takes periodic screenshots, counts keyboard and mouse events into an activity level, and notes the active application, window title, and URL. It never records what you type, never reads files, and never runs when the timer is off.
Tracking with clear rules.
Three product decisions behind Colabio's time tracking.
Timer, Screenshots, Activity
Start a timer on a task. Screenshots are captured periodically, and an activity level is computed from input counts, never from content.
Per-Member Capture Controls
Managers enable screen recording and AI screenshot analysis per member. Defaults are off, and the setting is visible.
Idle Handled in the Open
When the tracker sees no input for a while, a dialog on return lets you continue without the idle time or keep it.
Time tracking comparison
| Capabilities | Colabio | Typical Trackers |
|---|---|---|
| Keystrokes | Counted for an activity level. Content is never captured. | Varies; some products offer keystroke logging. |
| Screenshots | Periodic while tracking; unlimited on paid plans; members can delete their own. | Frequency and storage limits vary by plan. |
| Context | AI task suggestions, app and URL classification, daily updates. | Hours and a typed note. |
The Colabio commitments
Four rules for tracking that respects the people being tracked.
1. Visible Tracking
The desktop app shows when it is tracking. Members see their own screenshots and activity in the dashboard.
2. No Keylogging
Input events are counted, never recorded as text. Window titles and URLs are observed; file contents are not.
3. No Distraction Alerts
The only dialogs are an AI task suggestion you can dismiss and the idle check when you return.
4. Context Over Counts
Activity levels are shown with the task, apps, and daily update that explain them.
